Hello!
My name is Whitney Ihrman-Holmes ( I know that's a mouthful). I am called Mrs. Holmes at school to make it easier for everyone. 
I was born and raised in Kalamazoo. I received both my Bachelors and Masters degree in Elementary Education at WMU. Go Broncos! I moved to Mattawan while completing my graduate work and have lived here ever since. I have taught children from preschool to 5th grade. I spent 17 years teaching at a private school in Kalamazoo before coming to the EES.
When I am not in the classroom, I love spending time with my husband and two teenage sons. We spend a lot of time on the baseball fields, boating and enjoying Michigan. We have many pets that keep us busy including a red tail boa, leopard gecko and Norwegian dwarf rabbit. Unfortunately we recently lost our beloved English Mastiff, Boris. A new German Sheppard puppy is keeping us very busy and sleepy!
I love red licorice and my favorite color is blue!
It is such a joy to teach in my own community and where my children go to school. Thank you for sharing your children with me. This year will truly be an adventure!
